Animation Node setup for the #1 animation (gyroscope). Rotation is calculated by two angles then linear animated between those two with steps. This rotation then affect all other rotating elements.

Setup for animation #2 (month wheel). I manually animated the mechanism process, converted it to strips. Which is then controlled by animation node (rotation angle based) + manual animated rotation offset for the wheel so that the gears hits correctly.
